About
Artist. Author.
Speaker. Creator.
Music, words, and moments that remind you: your dreams matter, beauty is ahead, and life is worth living fully.

I survived. Then I chose to truly live.
My name is Patience, but I create music under the stage name Pae Murray. I'm an artist, author, speaker, and survivor. My work was born out of the moments that nearly broke me and the decision, over and over again, to choose life anyway.
On June 12, 2016, I was inside Pulse nightclub in Orlando when a gunman opened fire. I survived the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history at the time. In the years that followed, I learned the difference between surviving and truly living — and I've dedicated my life to helping others find that distinction too.
Music became my first language of healing. People call it "life music" — rooted in joy, hope, and the radical act of choosing growth when life gets hard. My book Have Patience: It's Already Done is an extension of that same truth: a love letter to faith, resilience, and the audacity to believe in what's ahead.
When I speak, I don't just share a story — I share a transformation. From trauma to purpose, from silence to song, from surviving to healing her halo. My mission is simple: remind you that your dreams matter, beauty is ahead, and life is absolutely worth living fully.
The Power of Words
"The Guilt of Being Alive"
While hospitalized after Pulse, I wrote a poem that named the impossible feeling I couldn't put into words: "The Guilt of Being Alive."
In a moment when 49 people didn't survive, I was alive — and the weight of that survival felt unbearable. This poem became a portal for grief, a way to reckon with survivor's guilt, and ultimately, a voice for countless others who survived tragedy but struggled to claim that survival.
When I performed it publicly, the response was overwhelming. People flooded in with their own stories, their own guilt, their own need to be witnessed in that complex space between trauma and resilience. It went viral because it named something no one was supposed to feel, let alone speak aloud.
Love & Life
Found Love After Tragedy
After surviving the unthinkable, I learned that love is still possible. I am a wife, a mom, and we are building the life of our dreams — living proof that beauty can rise from the ashes.
Our journey is raw, real, and documented in the Emmy-nominated docu-series Sincerely Patience. It's a testament to the power of choosing love, choosing growth, and choosing each other — even when the world tries to convince you otherwise.
Healing isn't linear. But it is possible. And so is love.
